Behold! The Mighty Epiphone!!

Heylow peoples of earth. Wanna see sumpthing shiny??!! :-D
I thought an introduction would be nice...because I'm going to marry him :P
It's a Les Paul Epiphone from Gibson. I've kind of been poking around on ebay and different guitar sites of late and have come to the conclusion that if I ever get another guitar...this is the one I want.
Why?
First off, the kid who comes in after me at lessons used to have one (Dunno if he still does or not; he's been bringing in this hideous gray metal-looking thing of late o.O) and I heard it once. It's got good sound. I then later found out that the guitar I THOUGHT was an epiphone is some off-brand of an epiphone. I'm kind of hoping for the real deal though...
Second, I'm not sure if you know this or not, but I own an alvarez acoustic. It has great sound and I really like it. I use it at least a half hour a day; usually more. I was told when I started taking lessons "You're gonna learn on an acoustic." Seeing as how my parents were the ones paying for the guitar in the first place (LOL!) I agreed. You know something? I'm kind of glad I learned on an acoustic. It's harder than an electric and therefore I learned "The hard way" to play. Now, when I pick up an electric, I think "Man! This is so easy!" So yeah, an electric is different from an acoustic.
Third, it's a nice-sized guitar. It's nice and small and the frets are easy to reach. You may notice that there is a nice little cut away in the side. That allows your hands to reach the higher frets.
Fourth, out of all the electric guitars I've seen in my searches...this one is the most "me" I think. I mean, just look at it!
Would you like some Viva La Juicy perfume and Converse tennis shoes with that? ;)
Epiphones come in all different colors, but I think I want either a white one or a "Bull's eye" one:
However, I am opting towards the white one because it's cheaper, and it doesn't make you seasick to look at it ;)
The blue or black ones are only between 6 and 8 hundred (Only. Pfft. It's still a crappin' lot of money! o.O) but for some reason I don't like the idea of a black or blue guitar. Well, blue wouldn't be to back as long as it was a shiny blue, but these ones aren't shiny ;) Black shows smudges way to easy I think. Plus, I'm usually wearing black...and thus I need something that will stand out against my clothes (Yes, I've put some thought into this ;))
Also, the marketing tequniches Gibson uses are quite convincing "...it's as goregeous as it is deadly."
WOW! It's is a nice guitar but, wait. I don't want to play anything deadly o.O What if I die???!! Oh, well ;)
And thus I have started saving for one.
And how much, you may ask, will something like this cost?
$1,332 brand-new from Gibson
*Heart attack*
about $600 used
I'd like the chance to play it first though; so I'll probably get it from a dealer...and thus it's hard to say how much I'll be paying o.O
I have $10.46 so far.
Oh yeah! I'll be jamming in no time :P
(Nobody leave me a comment saying "Oh, yeah. I've owned an epiphone for years! I actually have several...one in each color. How have you survived all this time without one? You call yourself a guitargirl! You're so lame!" or any other belittling thing. If you do, I swear I will delete your comment >:))
Oh, and P.S.- Happy Canada day if you're Canadian :) Have fun being Canadian as I have fun celebrating having only 17 more days until my next Article One concert starring some of the most awesome Canadian folks I know...
Actually, the only Canadian folks I know :P

But... but... why so worked up over an Epiphone??
Everyone knows Gretsches are the best guitars around! ;)
I wish i had an electric guitar too. :/
I think my sister has an epiphone... probably not though, she just sort of bought it one day because she didn't like playing acoustic :P
:D Epiphone looks purty....what would you name it if you got it?
Oh come on, everyone knows you have to name guitars!!
I hope you raises enough money...
Happy Canada Day :) And happy Article One-ness cuz it's Canada Day. Hey I think Downhere is from Canada...I should go say Happy Canada day to them...
wow...that is a NICE one!! i love it!
Wow thats a great guitar!! I played an epiphone LP one time and loved it. I have a gibson melody maker and its a decent little guitar but not any where near that thing..haha, have fun with it!
ahhh guitar love, I'm currently in love with a cherry Gibson SG and having an afair with a Gibson Darkfire
I remember I made an 'SG fund" asking people to donate to raise money....it...didn't work out too well. But i'm planning to play acoustic in the subway to raise money...Don't worry, you'll get your baby..eventually...! It's funny I used to be really against epiphone, but when I came across an awesome acoustic epiphone, and people were saying how great it was and all, I bought it and they're nothing less of a guitar brand than Gibson.
Good Luck!!
*plays wedding music*
Holy cats that is shiny. *is in a trance* I like the white one, too. It's easier on the eyes and more svelte.
Darn, the price hasn't dropped since you told me what it was. XD I hope you can get it someday soon!
So you're my hero because of this:
"I have $10.46 so far.
Oh yeah! I'll be jamming in no time :P"
Ha ha ha ha! =D
Wow..that looks really cool!
SISTER!!!!!!!!!
I HAVE A ALVEREZ ACOUSTIC TOO!!!!
Omg, I love that baby. It's black, with ivory edges, and has these pretty decorative inlays. And for some reason I LOVE the pegs on it. The sound is so great, i love the richness. I went to three music stores, and sampled around 25 acoustics (Because, like you, my parents insisted I learn acoustic, and like you I am glad I did) and for some reason, I loved the alvarez the best. it wasn't the exterior, although that part was great, it was that beautiful sound. OMG, I could go on for hours. What I meant by calling you sister, is that i think we share the same passion! Oh wow! Thanks for finding me!
That Epiphone is seriously sweet. It's kind of feminine, in a subtle way; but it also screams that is was born (made? lol) to rock.
Wow, I think you are one of my favorite bloggers now!!!
Thanks for reading all of this.
Maybe I'll post some pics of mine on my blog.
PS is article one a christian band?
JJ

I think you should buy the white one. Good luck in saving your money. I know you can buy it~~!
